Upcoming Productions

The Mansion of Many Apartments
Burning Coal Theatre - Raleigh, NC
Opens June 11, 2025

A woman awakens in the ICU after an accident, no longer able to recognize faces, even of those closest to her. Prosopagnosia, the doctors say. Face recognition blindness. It may just be temporary, they say. She hopes retuning home to familiarity and routine will reorient her to the people in her life. It doesn’t.

The inability to recognize anyone, including herself  begins to drastically affect her relationships. She starts to revisit the memories of her relationships and create ways to compensate for what she’s lost.  But as her memory constructs become more elaborate and her relationships shift further from what they used to be, her friends and family push her to return to the “real” world and her former self.

the mansion of many apartments explores the nature of identity, memory, and where autonomy and community blur.
